Redcar welcomes new grooming salon

A new dog grooming salon has opened in Redcar, North Yorkshire. 

Owner Sophie Appleyard runs Sandy Paws Salon from home on Druridge Grove. She became fully qualified in June this year after taking an intensive course. 

Appleyard told Teeside Live: “After leaving college I was really unmotivated and didn’t want to go to uni so just put myself in work. I’ve always loved dogs so started volunteering at Maxi’s Mates walking the dogs and I loved it. 

 “I thought why not do a dog grooming course it just sounded brilliant being with dogs all day.” 

She added: “Everyone has been so positive since I set up the business and I’ve had a lot of messages saying how great everything looks. 

“Hopefully I can build up my client base and do it full time one day.”
