Plans for Inverkip dog field revealed

Run Free Dog Fields is seeking permission to use farmland at Inverkip, Renfrewshire, as a dog exercise field.

The plans involve land at Finnockbog Road, 200m south east of Berfern Farm.

The facility would open at 7am and close at 9.30pm, although opening hours will be naturally restricted by daylight, as there will be no lighting in the fields.

The field would be available to hire in half hour slots, and dog walkers would be able to book a time slot via the company’s website, which will also issue a PIN code to allow them access through the secure gate into the field.

A planning statement explains: “The concept of the Run Free dog fields is to allow dog walkers and owners to bring their dogs to a secure site, let them run off the leash and they will be kept away from the public, other dogs and traffic.

“All dog waste will be contained within the secure site, for easier collection and removal.”

The application is pending assessment by planning officials.
