Plans to open dog walking field in Great Witley lodged with council
A new dog walking field could open in Great Witley, Worcestershire, if a planning application is approved.
Located on Home Farm Lane, the field forms part of a farm but is currently grassland.
Applicant Paul Owen proposes the erection of a 1.5-meter secure fence around the perimeter of the allocated field to ensure it is secure and safe for the dogs to exercise during an allocated time slot.
To the south of the field, Walsgrove Cottage is located and for a gesture of good the applicant proposes to erect the fence 12ft away from the boundary of this property, for a “buffer of privacy”.
Only 2 cars will be at the site at one time, if they turned up to their session early and had to wait for their booked session.
The parking area will also accommodate off-road parking for three to four cars if needed, but normally there will be one car at a time.
The proposed facility will operate via an online booking system where individuals can hire the secure dog walking field on an hourly basis and between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week.
The customers will be sent an access code to enter the field compound via a locked pedestrian gate and this code will continually be altered, to ensure the users cannot take advantage of the field and their paid session.
The application reads: “The village has seen recent residential development increasing the numbers in Great Witley, over recent years which also encourages an increase in dogs.
“Therefore, the need for a dog walking facility would be a great addition to the village and allow safe dog walking for those in need.”
