Inverkip dog field secures planning permission

Run Free Dog Fields has secured planning permission for farmland at Inverkip, Renfrewshire, to be used as a dog field.

The company’s application for land at Finnockbog Road, two hundred metres southeast of Berfern Farm, has been approved by Inverclyde planning officers.

A planning statement said: “The concept of the Run Free dog fields is to allow dog walkers and owners to bring their dogs to a secure site, let them run off the leash and they will be kept away from the public, other dogs and traffic.

“All dog waste will be contained within the secure site, for easier collection and removal.”

The facility will open at 7am and close at 9.30pm, although opening hours will be naturally restricted by daylight as there will be no lighting in the fields.

Visitors to the field will be able to book a half-hour time slot via the company’s website.
