Plans for Dartford dog park revealed
Dartford Council has unveiled plans to turn an out-of-use grass tennis courts into a secure dog park.
The site, located near Acacia Hall in Central Park, has not been in use for more than a decade.
The council is proposing to clear the overgrown brambles and repair fencing, with no extensive groundwork and no removal of trees. No artificial lighting will be installed in the area.
The plans include two benches, two bins, six wooden zig-zag posts each approximately 1m, and two low level jumps that will consist of two wooden cross beams each about 1.5m wide resting on two upright wooden posts, each about 0.25m high.
The park, which will be branded Central Bark, will be open from dawn to dusk, with opening times altering with the seasons.
The maximum capacity for the site will be up to 10 dogs at any given time.
No staff will be permanently stationed at the site, but the council’s park rangers will monitor the area.
