Pet care brand launched with insect food range debut
British pet care brand Some Grub has launched into the market with a range of three dog insect-based treats.
The new products comprise Breath Freshening, Calming, and Gut Boosting, initially to be sold on the brand’s website and independent stores before rolling out to nationwide retailers.
Some Grub uses mealworms in its products, which are said to contain more protein than beef, more iron than spinach, and Omega 3.
They are also believed to be good for gut heath due to the natural prebiotics they contain.
Owners Ollie Harkus and Ben Chapman said: “Because of their health and environmental benefits, we believe that insects will eventually be the number one protein in pet food and more popular than beef, chicken, pork and fish. We launched Some Grub to truly begin this transition and kick-start Britain’s insect food revolution.
