Freckenham dog park gets green light

Plans for a new dog park in Freckenham, Suffolk, have been approved despite recommendations for refusal. 

The plans sought to turn an agricultural field off Fordham Road, near Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds, into a dog training and exercise park. 

Councillors agreed the benefits of giving the facility the go-ahead outweighed any landscape impacts. 

In addition, councillors also echoed comments from residents who believe the park would improve the health of dogs, due to the behaviour training provided, but also the physical and mental health of their owners.
