Devon welcomes new dog park
A new secure dog park has opened near Cullompton, Devon.
The four-acre Paws4Play is available for booking between 6.30 am and 10 pm seven days a week at Mutterton, nine minutes away from junction 28 of the M5.
The facility is run by Alison and Adrian Bailey, who has lived in the area for 22 years and wanted to turn their redundant grazing field into a place people could enjoy with their pets.
The dog park features tyres, tunnels, a pond area, and a dog shower with towels and shampoo provided. In addition, there is a picnic area and a coffee machine.
Alison told Devon Live: “Places like this are essential for the dog’s mental and physical well-being. They provide a safe, secure location for people to come to exercise their dogs, knowing that it will be completely stress-free. If they’ve got a problem dog, they know they’re not going to be bothered by other dogs.”
She added: “Everybody has been wonderful and supportive. We’ve had some amazing feedback, but we always want to improve. We’ve got lots of suggestions that have been left and have a lot of future plans.”
In the future the company wants to add a sensory area and toilets.
