Dog walking field opens in Mid Devon

A new secure dog walking field has opened near Bampton, in Mid Devon, providing six acres for dogs and their walkers to enjoy.

The park has a shelter with a seating area, a tap for fresh water and a water trough, a dog poo bin, and a cold water tap for washing off muddy dogs. There are also benches and paths around the field.

The park is open from Monday to Sunday, from 6.30am to 9pm. People can book a time slot of up to two hours or a minimum of 30 minutes online. The park allows bookings of up to four dogs, but more can be arranged by contacting the owners directly.

Park co-owner, Rupert White, told Devon Live: “It’s perfectly situated for Bampton, Dulverton and Tiverton residents, so hopefully everyone will come and enjoy the view and their dogs can too.”

Claire Weaver, a dog sitter based near Bampton who runs Three Go Mad on Exmoor, added: “A lot of people have rescues that can’t go off lead and they’re nervous and they want somewhere like this. They may also be in season and need their own space.”

Bampton Bark Park charges £8 for 30 minutes and £20 for two hours.
