Chippenham groomer to open high street salon

A new grooming salon will open in Chippenham, Wiltshire, next month.

Groomer Katie-Jayne Musgrove and her husband Matt will open Dogs Rock on New Road on 5 February.

Previously the groomer owned a salon in nearby Foxham but was forced to sell it after being diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome – when the heart rate increases very quickly after getting up from sitting or lying down – in early 2023.

However, her husband built her a salon in their garden so she could continue her work when she was able.

Katie-Jayne told The Wiltshire Gazette: “I’m really excited, it’s going to be interesting because I’ve not seen a high street shopfront like this in Chippenham before, so I’m also very nervous.

“My last salon was right out in the sticks so it will be nice to be a bit more visible.”

Matt told the newspaper: “Katie has been grooming for a long time, so she has a lot of existing clients and there has already been a lot of new interest which is promising.

“This has been a dream since Katie started grooming, she’s always wanted that shopfront presence and it will be convenient for a lot of clients.”

The unit is currently undergoing renovations to transform it ahead of opening.
