XL Bully paddock could come to Macclesfield
Macclesfield dogwalker Amberleigh Williams and friend Nadean McDonald are planning to open a secure paddock for XL bullies.
New restrictions on the XL Bully are now in force, making it a legal requirement for all XL Bully dogs to be kept on a lead and muzzled when in public.
However, a crowdfund for Dee’s Bully Haven has so far raised £755 and local pub The White Lion is also set to sponsor the paddock in its first month.
Williams told Macclesfield Nub News: “There aren’t many dog paddocks that will allow XL Bullies, but we have found one of the only insurances that accepts them, and have created a paddock of our own.
“We have found the land we want to rent, which was a former dog daycare centre. There are two paddocks of an acre each, all with six-foot fencing.”
In addition, a portion of the funds would be allocated to establish a daycare facility.

What a great idea. However I am not sure having a field or centre with only XL bullies is such a good idea. In my small doggy day centre having lots of big dogs is a no no. I find that ‘big’ dogs in general are not so good in a place with lots of other dogs because they tend to show more aggression than other dogs. I am all for having a mixture of dogs but you have to be careful and vet your new dogs very carefully. These people setting up a ddc place will have to comply with all the normal regulations and often they will struggle because of the strict regulations. They can have all the best intentions in the world but legally might struggle. Good luck anyway. I live very near Macclesfield so will definitely be looking them up in the future, if i hear they can started
