Retrospective plans for Johnstone doggy daycare approved

Johnstone-based LoveDog Grooming has secured retrospective planning permission for the change of use of a registry office to a doggy daycare and grooming salon.

The proposal for 16-18 Macdowall Street in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, also sought permission for the retail of accessories such as collars, leads, harnesses, and treats.

In the application, it was stated that the lease for premises was signed on 4 August, and the business began operating on 1 September.

The applicant added that they were aware that the premises had previously been “used for a variety of purposes since being the registry office, including a dog grooming and daycare business” and “as such, was unaware that a change of use permission was required.”

Renfrewshire Council granted consent on the condition that a maximum of 12 dogs can be boarded within the site at any one time and the hours of operation shall be 8am until 6pm, Monday to Friday.
