Plans for new Solihull country park and dog walking trail approved

Plans for a new country park in Solihull featuring a dog walking loop, have been approved.

The new park, at Frog Lane in Balsall Common, will include new trees, hedgerows, and the creation of natural ponds. Footpaths will be suitable for dog walkers, with the fences separating the footpath safely from adjoining farmland.

Councillor Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull Council said: “It’s great that we’ve got this funding from the HS2 Community and Environment Fund to develop Balsall Common Nature Trail. Communities in Solihull have been feeling the brunt of the construction works and I think it is important that we do what we can to improve the local environment wherever we can.”

The work is due to start this autumn, with a grand opening in early 2024.
