Nottinghamshire groomer opens second salon

Groomer Leanne Stirland, owner of Smarty Paws in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, has opened a second branch in response to high demand.

Six years after opening her first Smarty Paws in Chilwell Road, Beeston, Stirland has opened Smarty Paws in High Road, Beeston.

It has taken Stirland about six months to transform the site, which was a former taxi firm, into salon. In the near future, she hopes to host seminars, training, and pet first aid training at the site.

Stirland told Nottinghamshire Live: “It’s [the Chilwell Road branch] pretty much fully booked until Christmas. I hate turning away dogs because I know what I give. I know the service I give and the level of service I give and I wanted to provide that more.”

She added: “I’ve been just as nervous as when I was opening the first one as I’ve opened the second one because to me it’s not just about business it’s such a passion of mine.”

Stirland hopes to eventually have four new staff members at the new salon.
