Nottingham kennel under investigation after police called over ‘welfare concerns’
The RSPCA has launched an enquiry into a Nottinghamshire luxury boarding kennel business after the police attended the company’s premises.
The Stapleford Boarding Kennels in Bessell Lane offers three types of kennel, according to its website, along with a half-an-acre exercise field.
A Nottinghamshire police spokesperson confirmed to The Canine Times that the police attended the business but the case has since been handed to the RSPCA.
A previous statement to Nottinghamshire Live noted: “Officers attended boarding kennels in Bessell Lane, Stapleford, at around 2.40pm on Sunday (27 August), after concerns were raised about the welfare of animals inside the address.”
An RSPCA spokesperson added: “We attended an address in Stapleford following a request from Nottinghamshire Police who had been in attendance.
“As this is an ongoing enquiry we’re unable to comment further while enquiries continue.”
