Newcastle council renews dog controls
Newcastle City Council is to renew a new Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), in a bid to keep the city’s streets safe and clean.
Council leaders have decided to reimpose restrictions that can see £100 fines issued on the spot to anyone caught failing to clean up after a dog or for not keeping a dog on a lead when required.
The PSPO, which will run for three years, mirrors a previous order that was approved in summer 2020 and expired last week.
