Lancashire groomer to stage ‘royal dog show’ to mark coronation

Muddy Paws Dog Grooming is hosting a royal dog show over the coronation bank holiday weekend.

The event will take place from 11am to 1pm on 8 May at the Dog Inn at Belthorn, Lancashire. There will be a category for the prettiest princess and most handsome prince, as well as contests for the ‘Waggiest of Tails’, Musical Sit, ‘Dog’s Got Talent’, Best Veteran (for dogs over seven years old), Dog Most Like its Handler, Best Child Handler, Silkiest Ears, and the Best Royal Themed Fancy Dress.

Entry cost £1 per class and will be taken on the day, and there is no restriction on how many classes to enter. There will be a prize for the winner of each class with rosettes up to sixth place.

Nic Machell, owner of Muddy Paws Dog Grooming and manager at the Dog Inn, hosted a dog show at the pub last year and will judge this year’s dog show.

Machell told the Lancashire Telegraph: “We are very excited to be holding our popular dog show again at The Dog Inn and we are thrilled about the response we have had already on social media.”
