Dog park to open at North Staffordshire farm

A new dog park is set to open on agricultural land at Pool Farm in Napley, North Staffordshire, after planners gave the go-ahead.

Members of Newcastle Borough Council’s planning committee backed the plans subject to several conditions. These include providing a parking area before the facility opens, arrangements for disposing of dog waste, and a limit on the number of visitors and dogs on the site at any one time.

The facility, which will include a small shelter and toilet room, will be open 6am to 8pm from April to September and 7am to 6pm from October to March, with visits by appointment only and up to six dogs at a time.

Only one objection was received that raised concerns about the facility’s impact on highway safety, noise and visual impact of a proposed fence.
