Cumbrian dog walker plans to open doggy daycare

A Cumbrian dog walker has applied for planning permission to transform a children’s nursery at Ennerdale Mill, in Egremont, into a doggy daycare.

The plans have been drawn up by by Hannah Eldon, who runs Let’s Go Walkies, currently based in Cleator Moor.

The doggy daycare centre would initially hold a maximum of 10 dogs per day and the proposed opening hours would be 7.30am until 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

In a letter submitted with the plans, Eldon says: “I currently own a successful dog walking business and often get asked if I can accommodate dogs for the day. This has been a struggle as it reduces the number of dogs I can collect for walking.

“This is where my idea of a doggy daycare centre came into my mind. I feel this will benefit so many residents.”

Eldon adds that in time she would like to expand the business and possibly open on Saturdays, which would allow her to branch out into dog birthday parties.
