Creative grooming salon opens in Midlothian

Dog groomer Emma Willats has opened a new salon in Dalkeith, Midlothian, which offers owners the chance to have matching hair with their pets.

Willats, who has been grooming since leaving the oil industry in 2012, has wanted to do creative hair for a long time but couldn’t while working for other people.

She told Edinburgh Live: “I dye hair and do tattoos and I just think that people should be able to express their personality and share with their dogs. You already get matching clothes, why not have matching hair?”

She added: “It also just makes dogs very hard to steal as they’re easily recognisable.

“I’m really looking forward to having lots of clients who will want their dogs to have cute colours alongside their normal grooms.”
