Bridgwater chippie to become grooming salon

Somerset Council has granted planning permission for a former fish and chip shop in Bridgwater to be converted into a new grooming salon.

Groom Central Dog Grooming had applied to change the use of the ground floor shop premises at 1 Grenville House, Rhode Lane, for a dog grooming business.

The applicant has also been granted permission to erect a vinyl business advertisement sign fixed above the existing security roller-shutter of shop premises.

The premises will retain its existing bench and counter, but two new work stands will be installed to groom up to two dogs at a time.

In addition, a new large dog bath will be installed over the existing drain at the back of the store.

Groom Central Dog Grooming has three years to put the plans into action.
