Barton-Upon-Humber groomer secures grant to launch business
Barton-Upon-Humber dog groomer Nicola Tingay has launched Barking Boulevard after securing a Kickstart Grant from UKSE, a business that invests in start-ups and SMEs in steel towns across the UK.
The business, which has an established steady client base, is expected to move into a retail premises in the town centre within three to five years. Tingay is also aiming to employ staff members and move into retailing pet associated products.
She said: “It feels great to start a business that I am truly passionate about, and I would like to extend a huge thank you to my family for their support, as well as the straightforward support from UKSE.
“In the future I hope to add further shops in towns and villages where markets dictate.”
Steve Lyon, Area Manager at UKSE, added: “Barking Boulevard’s success is a true testament to Nicola’s commitment, and is a fantastic example of someone turning their passion into a business.
“We wish Nicola all the success moving forward.”
