Andover doggy daycare and boarding firm secures council grant

Shepherds Lodge dog day care and home boarding, in Andover, Hampshire, has received a business incentive grant of £750 from Test Valley Borough Council.

Business Incentive Grants are for new businesses located in Test Valley and must be applied for before starting a business. They will be paid once you have been up and running for a minimum of six months.

Owner Julia Palmer says currently around 50% of her customers are boarding and 50% daycare. Her business has grown through word of mouth and now has regular repeat customers, she adds.

She said: “I am so pleased to receive a council grant to support my new business and I hope to use the grant towards converting an outbuilding to an area for the dogs, so they have a place to dry off when wet.”

Charlton and the Pentons ward, councillor Linda Lashbrook, added: “The business incentive grants are a great opportunity and give new small businesses in Test Valley a financial boost to help get up and running. I wish Julia every success.”
