A kennels in Broomfleet, East Yorkshire, has made changes after a daschund died after escaping from the facility.
Gustav, a three-year-old brindle daschund, escaped from the Jarratt Hills Kennels and Cattery in Broomfleet, East Yorkshire, on 15 August while being moved through a compound.
The kennel says it has now implemented “further measures” to prevent escapes after seeking advice from East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Jarratt Hills Kennels and Cattery told the BBC: “Escapes from kennels are rare but not unknown. However, we have never experienced a tragedy such as this.
“We can only imagine the pain and hurt the family is going through and pass on our sincere condolences for their heartache and distress.”
