Stratford District Council to tackle dog fouling

Stratford District Council is carrying out a six-week consultation on its Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) on dog fouling.

There have been dog fouling orders across the district since 2009, which have been subject to regular reviews, with the last taking place in 2020.

The council’s environment spokeswoman, Councillor Lorraine Grocott, said: “People caught letting their dog foul without picking up and properly disposing of the waste could be subject to a £100 fixed penalty notice or up to £1,000 fine following prosecution.”

The consultation, which can be viewed here, runs until 24 January.
