Somerset groomer seeks permission for home salon

A Somerset dog groomer has submitted an application to build a timber shed to be used as a grooming salon at their property in East Stoke, Stoke-sub-Hamdon. 

The business would be open Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm, Saturday 9am to 2pm, and would be closed Sundays and bank holidays. 

In a planning document, the applicant, said: “After many years of working as a dog groomer at a well-known veterinary practice, I have recently been made redundant. I am therefore looking to set up my own dog grooming business from a small cabin in my back garden. 

“I would be a sole trader and run an appointment-only system, I would have a maximum of three dogs on site at any one time, one of these dogs being my own.”
