Soham grooming salon decision overturned by Planning Inspectorate
A new dog grooming salon is set to open in Soham, Cambridgeshire, after a resident won a dispute with East Cambridgeshire District Council.
Resident Brian Johnson had sought permission to use the study of the family home in Soham as a grooming salon for his daughter.
The plans did not attract any complaints, but were rejected by East Cambridgeshire District Council who said Johnson had failed to show how customer parking could be achieved without “impinging” on the family’s own requirements.
The council said the outcome would be “a convoluted and impractical arrangement which is likely to lead to danger and inconvenience to other road users”.
The Planning Inspectorate upheld Johnson’s appeal.
