Sisters open grooming business in St Helens

A new family-run grooming salon has opened in Parr, St Helens, Merseyside.

Signature Grooming’s owner Liz Partington opened the business with her sister Claire, a mobile dog groomer.

Liz told the St Helens Star: “I’ve always wanted to follow the path of dog grooming, but never took the days out to get qualified.

“After the sale of my house came through and I was approaching 50, I thought that I’m either going to buy another property or invest in myself.

“As my sister was already a qualified mobile dog groomer, I put the idea to her and luckily she grabbed at it.”

Signature Grooming has started on the front foot, with many of Claire’s clients coming across to the new business, and walk-ins and word-of-mouth have also boosted the business.

“It took a long time for us to find the right place for the business, and then with a lot of family support, and blood, sweat, and tears, we revamped the shop to how we wanted it,” Liz told St Helens Star.

“We’re really happy that things are going well so far, and we hope to keep doing what we’re doing and introduce new equipment in the future.”
