Plans for grooming salon in Warrington garage approved

Planners have approved plans for a dog grooming salon in a domestic garage in Winwick, Warrington.

The applicant submitted a Noise Management Plan that stated that all new customers would be provided with terms and conditions for the business, which would state:

  • A ‘vocal’ dog will need to be assessed before offering an appointment.
  • All dogs should be leashed on arrival and collection and noise and barking discouraged.
  • Excessive and persistent patterns of noise and barking behaviour will be refused appointments.
  • Dropping off and collecting vehicles are to park on the driveway.
  • The salon door is to be kept closed at all times.
  • Grooming one-to-one and appointments will spaced to avoid meeting conflicts.

The plans had attracted objections over noise and traffic concerns.

However, planners approved the application with conditions not to be open to customers except between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00 on Mondays to Saturdays and not at anytime on Sundays, Bank or Public Holidays.
