Lancashire doggy daycare plan approved
Plans for a new doggy daycare centre in Darwen, Lancashire, have been approved after proposals for an outdoor play area were dropped.
Planning permission has been granted for the change to Unit 6 on the Watery Lane Industrial Estate in Watery Lane, Darwen.
Applicant Jurguen Moquet dropped plans to have an outdoor exercise yard for the pets over fears of barking disturbing nearby residents.
A report by Blackburn with Darwen Council planning officer Jamie Edwards recommends approval with eight conditions including prohibiting the overnight kennelling of dogs and limiting associated activities to indoors.
Edwards said: “The applicant already operates this business and holds several many clients.
“The proposal would provide an expansion opportunity, and as such there is no reason to dispute that the use proposed will be unviable nor that there is not any demand for such a facility.”
