Hampshire planners give green light to new dog training facility

A new dog training facility is set to open in Sherfield English, Hampshire, after plans were given the green light by Test Valley Borough Council.

The plans attracted criticism from locals concerned about the “ancient meadow” site that has been unchanged for around 200 years.

The residents said they would welcome the business if it was in the right place – “in a place established as an employment area, not a greenfield site”.

Alice Drew, representing applicant Miss O Hardy, said: “There will be a maximum of four cars on site at a time. It would generate a small amount of additional traffic.”

The council’s committee permitted the plan with eight votes for and two against.
