Grooming salon set to open in Redcar park

A new dog grooming salon is to open in Borough Park in Redcar, Teeside.

Owner Jackie Robinson, a former NHS director for quality and safety, is opening Blue-Bee Dog Grooming Salon to help nervous dogs feel safe and understood.

Robinson has selected features to make the salon as dog-friendly as possible, with non-slip flooring, calming colours and equipment that minimises noise and handling stress.

She told Teeside Live: “I thought that if my dog couldn’t go into a normal grooming salon, there’d be others, so it’s all about making it a less stressful experience for dogs.

“The building is exactly what I was looking for. What better place than somewhere they can have a little sniffy walk around the park and then come into the salon already in a good mood? That’s the idea anyway – it’s all about making it a less stressful experience for dogs.”

She added: “As a former NHS director for quality and safety, I’ve combined my expertise in personalised care with my lifelong passion for dogs to establish a salon that prioritises dog welfare while embracing sustainable practices.”
