Grooming salon and walking service to open in Rochester

A new pet store offering dog grooming and walking services is set to open in Rochester High Street, Kent, next week.

The Hound Hut, the second venture for Anthony Smallman and his partner Rob Burns, will offer services including grooming, paw pedicures, teeth cleaning, dog walking, and nutrition advice. The couple opened their first store in Kennington, London, in December 2019.

Smallman told KentOnline: “I visit my family here every week. I’ve noticed so many dogs here in the high street, but no doggy shop.”

He plans to bring as many local people into his business, including dog walkers, which will offer hour-long daytime exercise on Monday to Friday.

The shop is currently being refitted, but they hope to open on 25 April. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm and 11am to 4pm on Sunday.
