Dog walkers warned as pellets wash up on Lincolnshire beach

Dog walkers have been warned over small pellets of plastic washed up on Sutton-on-Sea beach, Lincolnshire.

East Lindsey District Council confirmed that the Environment Agency is aware of the problem and told dog walkers to be ‘vigilant.’

A spokesperson for the council told Lincolnshire Live: “East Lindsey District Council is aware a number of inert plastic nurdles (small pellets of plastic) have washed up in the Sutton-on-Sea area.

“The Environment Agency has been notified and we ask parents and dog walkers to be aware and vigilant when visiting the area.”

An Environment Agency spokesperson said: “We are offering advice and guidance to the local authority, which is responsible for removing debris on the beach. We encourage anyone spotting signs of pollution to call our 24-hour incident line on 0800 807060.”
