Cumbria trainer teaches children how to stay safe around dogs

Dog trainer Lindsay Hampshire, of Landing On Your Paws in Barrow, is teaching school children how to stay safe around dogs.

She recently visited the children at Pennington Nursery, Ulverston, and emphasised the importance of understanding a dog’s emotions and their stroking techniques.

Hampshire said: “I’m on a mission to help as many pups and their guardians live happy and contented lives together for now and in the future. And I believe education is key in making the biggest impact.

“I believe by creating meaningful training experiences my clients will pass on their knowledge to their children and grandchildren. Ultimately creating a more harmonious world for dogs and their families.”

The children were given certificates for taking part and given a leaflet to take home to their parents.
