Coventry groomer wants to turn former hairdressers into salon

Plans for a new grooming salon in Coventry, the West Midlands, have been submitted to the local authority.

The plans seek to turn the Kathleen Jessop hair salon on Binley Road, which closed down at the end of January this year, into a grooming salon.

A design and access statement reveals that, due to the building being located within the Stoke Green Conservation Area and its proximity to several listed buildings, any alterations to the building would be ‘relatively modest and minimal’.

It added: “The alterations would have a neutral impact to the character and appearance of the site and surrounding conservation area.”

If approved, the salon’s opening times would be 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. The salon would be closed on Sundays and bank holidays.

The plans are currently pending consideration.
