Chatburn groomer re-submits plans to move
A grooming business in Chatburn, Lancashire, has resubmitted its plans to relocate to larger premises.
Scallywags Dog Grooming saw its plans to relocate from the rear of the Brown Cow Pub to another property further down Bridge Road refused by Ribble Valley Borough Council.
Owners David and Adele Clay registered their original plans with the council in August, saying with the business needed extra space to provide further improvements. These include a more spacious grooming area, a separate waiting area, a more suitable rising bath for washing, a drying cabinet, and a staff toilet.
The council’s sole objection to the plans was there was not enough information regarding the impact of noise arising from the move, however, this has now been addressed in an updated planning support statement.
The statement says: “The noise report which is appended to this statement confirms the equipment associated with the grooming business does not generate a degree of noise which would create a nuisance.
“Indeed, the equipment is consistent with a normal domestic level or with a normal village centre small business use such as hairdressers or beauty salon.”
