Carlisle kennels reaches milestone
Carlisle-based Lough House Boarding Kennels is celebrating 10 years in business.
The Cumbrian facility has 17 kennels – a mixture of 13 double and 4 single units – and is licensed by Carlisle City Council to board up to 30 dogs. It also has secure concrete runs and a large grass paddock, which allows for regular ‘free running’ and exercising for the dogs boarding.
Louise Courtney, who co-owns the business with her husband Kevin, told the News & Star newspaper: “We both used to work in the airline industry before, so we both worked for British Airways at Heathrow and Kevin gave up 28 years of working for British Airways, a huge career, and a huge milestone to take on this boarding kennel.
“It was always a kind of dream of his and my son and I went along with it.”
She added: “It’s hard, it’s really hard, it’s very constraining.
“However, would I change it? Probably not.”
