Blackpool groomer offers homeless free dog washes

Blackpool grooming salon Ruby’s Posh Paws is offering to wash the dogs of homeless people for free.

The salon, at 203 Central Drive, will also offer the animals a free flea treatment.

Salon owner Nathan Floyd told LancsLive that he came up with the idea for offering the free service to Blackpool’s homeless community after chatting to a homeless man in town.

He said: “I was chatting to him and he told me he was too embarrassed to take his dog somewhere for a clean. It’s what gave me the idea to offer the free washes.

“No-one needs to be embarrassed to come here, its for the dogs after all. We’re based on Central Drive so it’s hopefully quite easy for them to come to us and get their dog washed and give them some food.”
