Newent dog walker raises funds for local animal sanctuary

Dog walker Brittanie Boughton celebrated her business reaching its 10th anniversary by walking packs of dogs for 10 hours and raising £1,100 for charity.

Boughton, owner of Happy Paws dog walking in Newent, Gloucestershire, walked 10 hours straight on Saturday (15 June) to raise funds for Teckels Animal Sanctuary.

She walked a pack of six dogs for three hours and 20 minutes in a dog relay. She was joined by friends with their dogs and each of her dog walking customers paid for their pet to join in.

Boughton told Gloucestershire Live: “Teckels do a lot of work with rescue dogs who have difficult behaviours and give them a break to be able to find their forever home.

“The work they do with dogs with special needs is really important as opposed to a dog who had a good home from day one.”
