Fareham’s Dog Daycare fundraises for sick staff member
Fareham’s Dog Daycare has raised more than £2,000 for a staff member diagnosed with stage four lymphoma.
Team member Bethan Smith has been in hospital since December and is currently going through chemotherapy.
Business owner Amelia Beards set up the fundraiser is to give her a safety net while she is receiving treatment.
Beard told her customers: “As a small business we are trying to do everything we can, but your support will mean everything.”
She added: “I think Bethan is quite overwhelmed – she didn’t think it would get this big and I know she is so thankful for everybody’s support.”
Beard is also organising a sponsored walk on 3 March with the donations going to Macmillan and Smith.
The walk will take place at West Walk, Fareham, at 10am and there will also be a coffee wagon in attendance with a percentage of the proceeds also being donated to Smith.
