Butternut Box secures £280m in funding to expand facility

Dog food subscription firm Butternut Box has raised £280m in its latest fundraising round, which it plans to use to expand its Doncaster manufacturing facility.

The planned facility will be the second of its kind for the company after Rudie’s Kitchen, a manufacturing and fulfilment facility that opened in March 2021.

Following the funding round, Butternut Box secured a new 20-year lease current lease on the 151,388 sq ft facility at Symmetry Park, Doncaster, owned by Tritax Symmetry.

Butternut Box Co-founder David Nolan said: “The 20-year lease and the regearing of the lease on our existing building demonstrates the confidence we have in Symmetry Park Doncaster as the best location for our business.”
