Canine first aider embarks on Scottish tour

Leading canine first aider Rachel Bean is coming to venues around Scotland to teach people how to become a canine lifesaver.

Bean, a qualified veterinary nurse who has appeared on TV and radio sharing the all-important skills, is visiting Scotland at the end of this month to deliver the Ofqual regulated iPET Network Level 3 qualification in Canine First Aid.

Anyone can attend the sessions, and you do not have to sit the qualification if you would rather just watch the training.

Bean said: “I’m really excited to be teaching in Scotland, and with more dogs in the UK than ever before, it is vital that as many people as possible know what to do in an emergency.

“The course is great for pet professionals, but responsible dog owners also like to come along and I have heard from many people after sessions saying they later went on to save their dog’s life.”

She added: “We really hope that dog lovers will come out and join the session, as these skills really do save lives.

“From what to do when a dog starts choking, to treating a wound, it is so important to act calmly and quickly, and we will teach you all you need to know.”
