North Shields grooming salon marks coronation

North Shields-based Hair of the Dog is marking the coronation with flags, bunting, and crowns.

After their grooms, pets can have their pictures taken at a photo booth wearing a crown, surrounded by Union Jacks.

Co-owner Catherine Shield, took over the business at the end of last year with her business partner Shaun Leach, told Chronicle Live: “Since we have taken over the shop we have had a theme each month and have had Christmas and Valentine’s Day, so this has fallen quite well and we thought for the Coronation we would go quite over the top and decorate the shop.

“It has been really popular with people stopping in to say they love the decorations and cars have been slowing down.”

She added: “Our customers love the dog portraits anyway, but they really love getting them with the crown on.”
