Dog trainer promotes safety 

Dog trainer Graham Whiddett is visiting schools in Kent and Berkshire to promote safety between children and dogs.

Whiddett, who runs Wiggle Waggle, is talking to the children about safety around dogs and providing tips on ways to interact with them.

During the session, Whiddett tells pupils about his acronym WAIT – standing for watch, ask, invite and touch – that provides advice to youngsters about how to act when they see a dog while they are out.

He also discusses how to interact with dogs at home and provided tips on eat, sleep, and play.

Whiddett has so far visited Cookham Dean CE Primary School, Holy Trinity CE Primary School, Cookham Rise Primary School, and Furze Platt Junior School.

He told Maidstone Advertiser: “To go out and give those talks and try [to] promote the safety aspect of it, it’s beneficial all round.”
