Burnley dog walking field plans given the green light

Plans to turn land in Briercliffe, Burnley in East Lancashire, into a dog walking field have been approved despite objections.

Local residents were unhappy about disruption the field, proposed by Mr and Mrs Frankland, may cause and also the impact on wildlife.

A planning officer’s report said: “The previous application put forward a plastic bus shelter as the main form of shelter to serve the proposed use. This was not considered to be appropriate for the rural location.

“A timber shelter is now proposed located along the western side, almost halfway in the field. Whilst the shelter will still be visible within the landscape, the design is appropriate to the context of the site.”
