Wimborne dog park plans lodged

Plans for two secure dog parks near Wimborne, Dorset, have been submitted.

Applicant Lorna Trent is seeking permission to convert around two hectares of land at Shady Glades, Long Lane, Colehill, into two dog exercise areas.

The proposal would see 50% of trees on the site removed, approved by the Forestry Commission, allowing grass to regrow and light to enter the site. In addition, 6ft-tall deer fencing would be erected, a parking area would created, with a storage container installed.

The dog parks would be booked out for sessions of up to 60 minutes by an individual or small group for their personal use.

The facilities would only be used in daylight hours, the plan added.
