Sherburn grooming salon becomes more sustainable

Sherburn-based grooming salon Vanity Fur VIP has formed a partnership with recycling specialists Green Groomers Collective, which collects and repurposes discarded dog hair.

Hair collected by Vanity Fur VIP will now be recycled in 10 different ways, through the diverse recycling methods offered by Green Groomers Collective. These range from oil spill clean-ups, to art and design projects, and composting.

Vanity Fur VIP owner, Melanie Braddock, said: “We have always valued our clients’ satisfaction, and now we can extend that satisfaction to the planet as well.

“By recycling dog hair in 10 different ways, we are bringing sustainability right into our community. It’s not just about dog grooming anymore; it’s about making a difference,” she added.
