Powys kennels plan revealed

Plans to convert a barn on a farm near Newtown, Powys, into kennels have been unveiled.

Applicant Lesley Jarvis has submitted the change of use application for the barn at Lower Pengelli Farm, which is located between the villages of Kerry and Sarn.

The barn conversion will contain eight single kennels and two family kennels arranged either side of a central walkway with a utility/washroom and a reception at the front.

In addition, dog runs would be created inside the barn.

The business, called Pen-y-Paws Retreat, could be expanded in future to include grooming dog and puppy training sessions, the plans reveal.

A decision on the application is expected by 29 July.
