Plans for East Lothian grooming salon given the green light
Plans for a new dog grooming salon in Tranent, East Lothian, have been given the green light despite concerns about the disposal of dog hair.
Douglas Lauden and Katarzyna Gacek’s plans to convert a garage to house the studio and a store have been approved by East Lothian Council.
Planning officials revealed that they had received two letters about the plans, according to the East Lothian Courier. One had concerns about parking and road safety from a potential increase in traffic, as well as noise from barking dogs, and the disposal of dog hair. The other also highlighted the potential increase in traffic.
The council approved the plans with a number of conditions: the business can only operate from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays, no more than two dogs can visit the premises at any one time, and it will operate on an appointment-only basis.
